Hey guy's I am just looking for a fast way to recheck my MFT/3 fence . Some were on the internet I saw a framing square that was 3/8 or so thick. I know there are several ways to check squareness. I appreciate your opinions

I believe Rick Bush told me to use my big 12" swanson speed square.

I has a thick edge on it.  If my speed square is not perfectly square, it won't make a whole
lot of difference to me.  I think I have only checked my table once in the last year.
It gets carried around and broken down and stripped of its parts almost daily.

Increasingly, I just use bench dogs - like the Qwas Dogs that have been mentioned on the forum.  With the MFT/3 you can align the fence to the row of holes and then do the same thing with the rail - using a spacer strip of wood if necessary.  You can also just drop a couple of Qwas dogs in the holes and use a carpenters square if you'd rather square than align to the dog holes.  But the holes are square so why not use them?

There's a discussion here:  http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/mft-bench-dogs/

Good luck -

It's really simple...

Set your guide rail where you want it and lower it to the tabletop.

Turn the fence to 90 degrees so that it is parallel with the guide rail.
Slide it over to the guide rail and check to ensure that they are actually parallel. If not, adjust.
