those of you that have one, I just bought one today and was wondering if you had any ideas or pictures of one in your shop and the best way to make a stand for it.

or just set it on top of my festool mft 3 or my old 1080 (mft 3 as of tomorrow)  I will use it mainly for 1x and for sides of 12" x 6' 8' etc for cabinets or bookcases.

I have seen some pictures on here before of them in a shop, but can't seem to find them.. thanks in advance for your help and ideas

oh I use it with my domonio also( since this is a festool owners group, had to add that  ;D)

electric model,  yes it is a sweet machine and works great will be putting it to work very soon.

I actually sold mine to get the Domino. I never had a stand for it, though. Just plopped in on the bench (MFT) when I needed it.

norm,  funny, I just bought that same stand last saturday and put my router table on it... so it is the same height as my table saw so it will also be used as an outfeed table.

I ended up screwing some 2x4s to the back wall of my shop and put some wings on it with a box to set the jig in like gregg b recommemed.  and it seem to work fine. but that kreg table is great and solid.

I milled  a board to the thickness of the jig then  mounted it on a piece of plywood 3/4 inch 3 ft long 6 inches wide. You can mark your differant sizes on the boards edge for repeat cuts, just sliding it along....

Is it going to be in the shop 100% of the time or travel with you once in a while?  The kreg stand looks nice and sturdy, and probably well made like all of their stuff but for that price I would make something.  I would just buy some lower grade finish ply and build something to fit your use.  For me, I would mount a 4 way elc box on the side, have some shelves under neath for storage, tools, etc.  Also how is the dust/chips collected?  If they fall through the bottom, I would make a draw underneath the top for the chip collection, then you just dump it out once in a while.

i ended up putting it on the back wall of my shop with wings, and I can move it around or take it with me, just pull it out and go.  thanks for all the advice.
