So in a classic case of "you can find it when you aren't ready to buy, but once you are you can't find it"  I'm having this with large triangles.

I'm talking about units like the TSO PTR-18.  When looking for them before, I was finding ones that could be had in either metric or inch.  But now, no luck.  Woodpeckers had a sorta metric one (inch tool re-done with mm markings), but it was a On time tool.  I like the TSO PTR, but they don't make them metric or inch, they make it dual, so that's no good.

I swear I found just metric ones before, but now no luck. Are there other manufactures of similar units out there that I'm just not finding right now?

The WP PSQ660-19 is another option,  on the plus side you can use it on outside corners unlike the triangle, but I'm not so keen on the triple layer edge, which means you can't use it as a lay flat square. Also out of stock.

Anyone else make similar products?

Contact TSO, see if they'll make you a metric only. Dosen't hurt to ask....

Lamb Tool Works.  Check out what Brian builds and sells. He builds a few high quality products.  It may not be what you want but it’s worth taking a look at.  Brian’s a good guy very knowledgeable about machining and woodworking, I have a few of his products

Hope this helps

thought it doesnt have a scale but its excellent for squaring up MFTs the  Anderson Plywood square is the bomb. For 29 bucks ya cant beat it.

full disclosure: I had one of the first one made and it was just a tad out. I contacted Don at Anderson and he told me they had a problem with the early models, the employee at the manufacturer sanded them just a tad to much. Even though I had mine for about 2 years or so Don replaced it no problems. I tested it and the replacement was as accurate as my WP 45cm square. with it being 3/4 thick it is a lot easier to use then the WP square.

Yeah,  something like that is under consideration too.  Basically wanting to get something good for squaring up, doesn't really need markings, but of course markings make a tool more useful.  I'm looking for using it as you describe, squaring up MFT.  Since I'm buying one new, I want to have it to square up for first cut on it.

Don said you can buy his square on eBay. Since I got the new one its all I use for squaring up my MFT. I dont use my WP anymore plus its only something like $29 for the square.
