Wish Festool made a larger version of the chip catcher, say something with a 2 1/2" ID (64mm). The opening in the bottom of the router is big enough and the dust collection doesn't work without the chip catcher :'(.

Can't afford the OF2200 right now,so don't go there. ;)

Actually they do.  The table widener for the 1400 has a chip catcher thats the size of the 2200.  Dont let the picture on the festool site fool you though, cause they use the picture of the 1010 table widener for the 1400 also.  The price is $114.00.  The hole in the base is a lot bigger too.  Hope this helps you out!  I forgot to mention that the chip catcher attatches to the base by a magnet, Its pretty cool!

Thanks Woody,
I'll check it out. ;D Do you have one of the table wideners? How is dust collection?

Why yes I do.  The main reason for buying it was so that I could use my CMT master rabbet set with the shroud because the original one was just perfect, but it limited the dust collection.  Buying the table widener really helped it a lot, but I also use the bigger diameter hose and a ct22.  Good luck!

Thanks, Woody.  I never before heard or saw that information about the table widener for the OF 1400.  To date, when I needed to use a larger bit and make a full edge profile cut, I always setup outside and let the chips fly.  Even the 36mm hose on a CT 22 clogs rather easily when making a full profile cut on 5/4 stock.
