Regarding the button lamp.  Here is a before and after picture with my OF 1010 router:

They do seem to work to better illuminate the router base.  I need to spend some more time to make some inserts to create a better platform to stick them to.  They might work better in an OF1400 as it may have a larger place to mount them.  I don't have a OF 1400 so can't tell.

I may also try trying to modify one of the lamps to see if I can make it fit better.

Overall, well worth the $10 :-)

Hello  Following on this thread
Have you developed a better place to put these lams on 1010 router?

From this thread I added LED's listed above and shown on the OF1010 to mine also. They help enough I would say they are worth the cost. Location is slightly different as I put them onto the little round button of the casting, which required a decent amount of nibbling on the outside of the light. The lights come with a tiny double stick circle on them that will not hold very well. If I wasn't in a hurry during install, I would have made an ABS or acrylic mounting plate and affixed it to the OF1010, then mount the lights on the router.

Festool routers should have lights on them. Every cheap and even battery powered routers have a light on them today.
