Ended up getting the 700 during the Domino sale and have been finding more and more ways to use it. The first few pics don't have dominos in them, but show some of the corbels (or knee-braces) that a builder friend of mine had me make. Pretty much everything was constructed using misc Festoys.
A completed knee-brace...[attachthumb=1]
A bit closer...[attachthumb=2]
Some of them were structural, supporting little eyebrow roofs over some garage doors...[attachthumb=3]
Building a decorative truss out of cedar[attachthumb=4]
[attachthumb=5]
Truss completed...[attachthumb=6]
And in place.[attachthumb=7]
The truss will be painted along with the entire building, and to avoid having gaps open in my joints over time (even with multiple 14 mm dominoes glued in) I put a mending plate on the backside of each joint.
Notice that all the braces that support the little eyebrows are structural, but the 10 additional (5 front, 5 back) braces that "hold up" the barge rafter are decorative. The client really liked how the first set of 17 came out that he wanted to go ahead and make 10 decorative ones.
Taking one of many trips up in the Genie lift...[attachthumb=8]
The first time I tried to make it to the peak of the roof I had the lift set back about 15 more feet on flatter ground (they're pretty sensitive to being level) and had a few sphincter-puckering moments at full extension before wisely digging in a spot closer to the building. This pic is from the closer spot.[attachthumb=9]
Hats off to Tom Bellemare at Tool-Home for importing the blades for Hardi material. I purchased one for each saw and I'm glad I got them because this job popped up less than a month later. The contractor was pleased as punch that I could cut in the braces cleanly without having to remove and replace a bunch of siding. I just screwed the track to the siding and cut the hole out.
