LS 130

Hey guys,

Pulled the trigger on the LS130 and cant seem to find "what's in the box".  I checked all over the FOG and looked at the manual that was on the Festool site but no mention.  I am guessing it just comes with the rectangle pad, but wanted to find out.  I didnt think to order a profile yet (mostly doing shaker panels for a kitchen project).

I also see that Brilliant 2 should be my paper choice as this is mostly sanding new maple, with some MDF tossed in just for fun.  I do have some light rails and crown that will be part of the mix... nothing too fancy but definitely some stacked material.

It comes with the flat pad and the 90 degree pad. Click the "Specifications" tab.

The Brilliant is a good abrasive choice for any of the profile pads because it is thin enough to conform to the profile. But for the flat pad whatever type is best for the job will work.

The RTS 400 uses the same size paper if you want a random orbital and not go for an ETS. Festool has a great assortment of profiles or a make your own profile kit. Since you are sanding shaker style pieces you most likely have what you need in the systainer, aside from the paper. Seth is spot on about the use of Brilliant. Having a systainer full of profiles that have been used a lot, thin flexible paper is the best.

I have had a ets 150 and ro 90 for a few years now. Kitchen and bath projects have pushed me into cope and stick land and don't want to sand everything by hand. I also have the sanding blocks so I think I am going to be happy with this guy.

Yeah, this was never really on my list but the amount of stack moldings and panels I am going to be doing it seemed like a great investment.

I got into a remodeling project involving lots of crown molding that needed sanding. Bought an LS130 and about 4 profiles. The LS made short work of the sanding. It is a narrow use machine, but the excels at the type of job.

Since I took that refinishing class, I really enjoyed it , so I am looking for ways to refinish furniture and speed up the prep process. This and the DTS400 might do the trick

Bought one a few weeks ago to help on some intricate oak staircase moldings. After 25 minutes I was upset with myself for not buying one years ago. It definitely saves your hands and does an awesome job.  I grabbed a few of the custom DIY pads.  You will be very pleased.

I have had one for a couple years now and do not use it much, but when I need it, its great! I wish I had all the profiles, but just cant convince myself to get the others yet. $$$
