Thats funny  again their is not 3.3 ah   lol only 3.9 and 3.0  lol Where is the 3.3ah lol

also the 3.9 is cheaper than the 3. odd really

I  bought the 24 circ with batterires and bare drill 6 month later. the drill gets loads of use but the saw not so much as im normally set up for power and if im not then a handsaw is all thats needed for the odd cut. good on roofs tho

Well thats what I like about the 70mm depth would help on the roofs.  Hey we are agreeing with something not knocking each other makes a change! [poke]

i tend to use my hitachi 190mm saw for roofs all the time now. go for speed over portability but the 36v my be better

Well its something ill look at in the future wait a bit its a lot of money and I lashed out a lot of money at the moment and I hope the price will go down I doubt it though.  Also just need to finish two ongoing jobs so I can get paid!

Cheers

JMB

the price has gone down, it was ?900 when i wanted 1 which is why i had the 24v not the 36v

Lol I want it lower!  Ill properly buy one  with the SDS  some time in the future  because I do need a cordless SDS.  Like to day I was fitting kitchen worktops with my mate and it was wicked just to get my Carvex out and cut the sink out with out the need to get leads out and place carvex back into its systainer and done.

dont think i have used my jigsaw to cut a sink out since i had my ts75( circular sinks an exeption) Wouldnt you have leads out for the router?

Well the job yesterday was just replacing the old worktop for new! So  we where set up in the garage so all the leads and router and TS55 and everything was set up in the garage which was at the end of the garden thats where he said we could work and thats where he had stored the 3 worktops.  I always cut out sinks and hobs with my TS55  I normally always do it in place saves carrying the worktop back and its really easy with the TS55 plus sometimes if its a long worktop and its a large cut out the worktop is very weak and could break.  Any way because we was all set up in the garage and I didnt want to carry my CT22 and TS55  PLUS I wanted to try out the Carvex with the Modification (bending the spring more) Thats why I used my carvex  like you said I always use TS55 though normally. Okay ill say it I just wanted to have a play! I havent used it much yet!

Once again I will test my learning skills of the UK vernacular.  I believe a hob is a cooktop.  The only reason I think that I am correct is that I have heard the burners referred to as hobs.

Peter

Well, Wikipedia seems to agree with Peter, although it also states as a definition, a generic term for various Dwarf-like and Elf-like magical creatures in Germanic folklure.

So, I guess the cooktop installer is not called a hob knocker......        [blink]

PS. Interesting thread as I've never looked inside a battery pack before.

I take it you haven't bought any new Milwaukee cordless tools.   One of their selling points is their new battery range and in their catalogue they have a battery exploded apart explains all the good new features about it. Also when I went to a demo they had one in bits and gave it me to ave a look at it while explaining what's so good about it.

Milwaukee here in the states has had the most horrific battery's in the past 5 years or so.

I wouldn't let someone give me one of their cordless tool's.

Ditto here... the problem is worldwide- all 4 of my 28V Li-Ion bats are trash, Milwaukee's products have taken a bad dive after the company sold.
On the other hand- Festool's 15V Li-Ions are outstanding.
As far as I know, Makita Sweden is controlled by Essve, and I haven't had particularly good experiences with them- their prices are out of control and they have no interest in customer service to individual carpenters/ small companies.

OK if you look at the PCB you will see the metal contacts which connect the battery to the tool I would follow the connections back to the cells to confirm which are the correct. I believe the two outer contacts are the pos/neg

it is impossible for me to tell you which are correct from the photo but my instinct says it does not look correct with the areas you have highlighted
the metal tab with the red marker looks good

have another look there are three wires that go into the cells that are nothing to do with the pos/neg they are the thermal fuse two wires. and the thermal sensor.one wire

use a meter  to confirm.the pos/neg

you must be sure you make the correct connections.do not short anything if you are not sure which are the correct connections dont do it...

Today a fourth battery  stopped to charge. I have eight batteries totally and four of the don't charge anymore.
Finally sat down and solder to batteries together as the "piggyback" instruction.

Five of the batteries are 14 month old, the three others are new and working. Two of the malfunctioning did I forget to charge at once, so they did probably discharge to much. And the two other have been working but just stopped to charge.

Tried to find anything about how the electronic work. Get the feeling that is that breaks down.

Do anyone have any idea how to fix the electronics? Do anyone exactly how it works. Does it have any memory? (counting amount of charging cycles?)
Can it be "reseted"?

If not will my choise  to go with Makita been a bad one. Used to have Dewalt 18v with the old NI-cad batteries and they last for long.

Seems so far that one battery been save by the piggyback solution, the story will continue when I have tried it on all of the 4 of them.

All input in the subject is welcome!

I have been working with my mate for couple of days and every day he got boths of his makitas out a 18v Impact and driver out but he never used them every time I was looking around for my drill he had it!

I kept saying oi stop stealing it!  He said it's my fault for having a nicer drill to use on the job lol!  I said okay I'll use yours for a day man. They are crap!

Makita have hardly any power and batteries don't last at all!  I hated using his drills!  After half a day I said we will just share my drill if you like sod using them crappy things!

He said he's gutted cus he thought his drills where good and didn't have a problem with them but after using mine for few days he hates his drills he wish he had met me sooner and had never bought the makita drills.

This is his impact
