McFeely's T12+3 again

What a joke. I put all of my information in, including CC#, 3 times to create an account and place my order and it would not go through or save. I don't need a new-old drill anyway. I should have learned my lesson after the last time, but I thought I would give them another try.  [embarassed]  At least my CC did not get charged this time.

I called Mcfeely's and was informed that they were out of stock and they will no longer be carrying festool.

How strange, I placed my order this morning thinking it probably wouldn't work out but I got shipping confirmation this afternoon.

These idiots just don't learn their lesson do they! I would never buy from them again but you would think that after the last issue with over selling product they would fix that system because it's allowing me to order one still. Strange also that it's up right before the end of the month again too. I wonder how many other tools they are doing this with.

Well it came today, McFeeleys might be poorly run but I'll take good deal on another drill.

So Festool must be cleaning house. First McFeely and now Rockler. Strange as I thought Shane worked for McFeely in a previous life. Of course that was when McFeely was owned by someone else. At least two owner ago i think.

I got a Call from i think his name was Mike from Mcfeely's yesterday. He wanted to apologize for the hassle with the festool drills. He said that the one drill that was for sale was accidentally put up after a customer returned it and it was not meant to be. He said something about the warehouse guy not knowing this. He said that a lot of people had ordered that drill again and their system was still not fixed to stop this.

He said he would get over here and set some things straight about whats been going on but no sign yet.

Shane did work for McFeely's when it was based in Lynchburg, VA.  When it was sold to the next company and relocated he went to work for Festool.  (I consider that a MAJOR WIN! for us).  Then recently it was sold to the current group.

I got a phone call as well, he was super nice and really sorry it happened. Mistakes happen all the time, it is how you deal with them that is key.
If I need fasteners I will give Mcfeeely's a shot and see how are to deal with on a completed order. I do wish I had a paper catalog to look through as the website is not the most helpful for searching.

I have been buying from them for 15+ years with no issues whatsoever. Well north of 100 orders and a significant sum of money spent. They were one of the first to carry Festool and where I bought my first track saw. They have a superb fastener selection though you do need a printed catalog to find what you are looking for.

Anyway for those following this thread pay no attention to bad mouthing. Just a bunch of sour grapes over missing out on some artificially low prices.

I've only placed two orders with them and both went well and we're shipped quickly. I think some if their prices on fasteners are high so I don't use them for that reason.

I have no dog in this fight. This isn't the same McFeely's you've been dealing for the last 15 years.  The new ownership needs to prove that they deserve the respect and loyalty that the old ownership earned.  This is the second time that they mishandled the same problem.  If you don't fix a recurring problem you are either negligent or incompetent.

. WOOF!!!!  Just kidding Brice... [wink]
Sigh, it really isn't the business that it once was. But there are lots of products that they can carry and straighten themselves out with.

In my opinion, well said Brice.

Wow, that's news:  are you sure Mcfeely's will be discontinuing Festool?  I always got good service.  In fact, I think I bought my first couple of Festools from them.  They are very convenient for me especially for getting consumables next day.  They are now owned by Grainger who also took over the Lab Safety Supply in Janesville, WI, just up the highway from me.  I just call the catalog line and tell them I want to pick up the stuff from their city desk next day.  Always in stock, never had a problem.  The Woodcraft in Madison is twice as far, and even though it's a decent store, they don't carry a big range of sanding discs, etc.

Lab Safety / Grainger sold MsFeely's end of last year / beginning of this year along with a few other companies.  The new company is based out of Ohio.

That's what this guy told me. He said he's not sure about the future and festool but currently they will not be selling except for stock they have laying around. Crazy choice in my eyes as festool has blown up the last few years in the US.
