MEGA Deal from Festool UK on PDC 18 'Set' Version

DPD driver turned up this morning with the drill. I ordered in the second wave of eBay items last week. No mention of it being despatched either, so a heads up for those in the UK who are concerned, it may arrive today.

Ordered mine in the "second wave" on Thursday too and it arrived about 30 minutes ago.

Next question though, what dealer do you select when registering? TTS Tooltechnic Systems GB Limited aren't listed, neither is Festool UK or anything similar...

Alsp, are there any "must have" Centrotec accessories anyone can recommend via pm or point me at a thread?

Much appreciated.

I better get mine today then :) I ordered pretty soon after it went on eBay on Wednesday afternoon

I've sent Carla at Festool an email and will update this thread with any information.

You could register it as coming from TTS-Direkt Technik Teile Service (Deutschland) as I think that's where it came from, although does that cause issues with warranty and differing Countries?

Mine's just arrived. Also got an invoice in the post too.

One thing I've noticed - when I got my other one (when they first came out) one of the complaints I had was that the direction switch was easily knocked. This one seems much, much firmer. I don't know if it's just because it's new, or whether they've made a slight change to stiffen it up a bit...

The seller and the address on the despatch note is TTS Tooltechnic Systems GB Limited, so although they may have been shipped from Germany, Germany weren't technically involved in the purchase. I'll see what Carla suggests or maybe Phil might chip in with some advice.

I'm new here, came across the site looking for tsc55 cordless plunge saw reviews. I'd mentioned to a friend fancying one and had looked at Dewalt reviews, he said his 240v Festool was great. I felt torn between 110 v 240v, although I'm rarely on building sites that stipulate them these days but it's nice to have the option so wondered if cordless was up to it. Anyway first thing I saw on the site was this thread on the drills, I thought oh well missed out here BUT then they were listed again so I snapped a couple up on impulse, thing is I only wanted a flippin review on a plunge saw, now look what you made me do! Here's hoping they are worth it! Mark

Thanks, well I think! Found myself looking at Festering dust extractors last night, previously my broom and Henry sufficed! Will have to canvass opinion on plunge saw options, 240,110 or battery, used or new. I half convinced myself on the drills because each have a pair of batteries that could go on a cordless plunge saw but those are quite a bit more to buy than corded and then there's rail lengths to consider! Mark.

Ze PDC has landed !! :)

Just tried registering it with the app and as you say there's no dealer listed for tts. I'll wait to hear what we do.

I've received an email from Michael at Festool. [EDIT: Confirmed with Michael that it is OK to post here]

"For this case please leave the dealer data off, as we are Festool HQ in UK and not an usual dealer, therefore you cannot list us and find us. So please leave all that data off and proceed on to next page."

I've just done that and the registration completes successfully.

Yep just done it and it worked. Love the way you can just scan it in on the app. I've used it a few times now to register tools , why don't other companies do it ? So simple

Anyone noticed there's now an nfc button on the app so it can communicate with some of the newer tools. It can show info about run times etc. So far I think it's only the new brushless sander that does it.

Wow this thing is fast. I've had a couple of 18v li-ion makitas for years now ,one being the heavier metal gearbox version. As I expected the pdc is better as it's newer technology but I hadn't reallized how much faster it spins. It's gonna be great for drilling out locks .

Mine was waiting for me when I got home  [smile].feels lighter than my heavy duty 18v makita. But boy does that hammer scream.

Not part of the MEGA deal but I am eagerly awaiting my PDC 18/4 either today or tomorrow.... I went with the PDC 18/4 Li 4,2 Set XL QUADRIVE.... Gave my 18v Dewalt drill to my younger son (#3 of 4 , 12 years old).
