I'm using the MFS as a router templete with a 1/2" flush trim bit. This requires adjusting the depth setting (OF 1400) very precisely to clear the bottom of the templete while trying to cut the entire face of the the work piece. I have used a templete guide in the past but flush/trim bits make the calculations, layout and setup much easier and faster. I'm thinking that a buffer pad placed between the MFS and work piece that had good friction qualities and was a about a 32nd in thickness would provide enough of a gap between the two, to cut the entire face of the work piece without risking nicking the MFS.
