I have a place in my under construction shop that is begging for a cabinet/work bench. It is right next to the Store Wall with all my Festool guides and jigs hanging on it and my MFT 1080. I have been thinking about making a cabinet inside of a work bench type base and putting a raised Festool top on it. I am making plans to alter one of Danny Proulx's designs in "Woodshop Worstations". I would leave off the vises and modify the cabinet and top for Festools.
My cabinet/work bench would have a Festool friendly top connected with large dowels, so it could be replaced easily. It would move on 3" red casters. The cabinet would contain full sliding pull outs behind cabinet doors. My most commonly used Festools, TS 55 saw, Of 1400 roouter....would rest on the slide outs, providing fast easy access. My guides and clamps could rest under the table top.
