I am in the process of building out my shop, part of that is new workbenches. Ever since my lovely fiance bought me an MFT for my birthday, my build strategy has changed. I want to incorporate the MFT concept throughout my shop. Everything will be the same height as the MFT. With that said my first plan is to build a miter stand work bench for the wall. What I came up with is a suspended torsion box top with integrated dog holes, and t-track for adjusting/moving the miter saw fence. The top is built on the 96mm hole increment MFT design. The bottom has openings to access any under table dog clamps/knobs.
Drawer openings will be 28" slides for double deep systainer drawers.
I still need to draw up the miter fence. Debating on the kreg or incra fence systems. There will be two of these benches, one on either side of the miter saw cabinet.
Please let me know your thoughts.
