I am building a heavy duty maple work bench and want to drill some holes the same size as the holes in my MFT tables.  It appears that these are 20mm.  Is that correct?  If so, where can I find a 20mm plunge router bit to create them?

You are correct, They are 20mm holes, spaced 96mm on center.

We carry the festool 20mm plunge bit.  It is not on our website, but if you give us a call, or send an email we will be more than happy to help you get one.

You can get them just about anywhere, but there are slight variations in actual size.  If you're using festool clamping elements, you should go with the festool bit to get the exact same size holes that are on the MFT.  You can get said bit just about anywhere.  I recently ordered one from festoolproducts.com but they have them on amazon, etc, as well.

So one of our dealers here takes the time to answer the OP question and you want to steer him elsewhere; to sources that put no skin in the game? ::)

Just wanted to let you know that I am purchasing it from Tooltown in order to support the good guys. [wink]

I don't think he was steering the OP elsewhere, just making the point that the bit is readily available from multiple sources!  Good to know! :)

Thanks,
dr

Fair enough, maybe I am too cynical. Either way, I feel it is important to recognize the work put in by the retailers who contribute to the forum. The OP seems to understand my observation. I tip my hat to him.
