Mid Century Modern credenza

That's really nicely done.

A classic piece.

Would love more details on the construction, materials and finish.

Thanks for sharing!

[attachimg=1]It is cherry with miters cut with my track saw on the MFT and reinforced with dominoes.  It is a natural finish with eight coats of thinned varnish applied by hand. We use it as a tv stand.

Very nice. It does have the ripped from the 50s look. There was some stylish furniture
coming out then that celebrated wood for what it was. I think you captured that look
and I like it.

Beautiful work.  Love the cherry.  My parents had that style furniture but theirs didn't look anything near as nice as yours.  Yours I would have wanted to keep.

Nice project with fine detail all the way down to the finish.

TV stand
What are you some kind of neanderthal? You don't have your 70" mounted 6' on the wall so it can be seen from everywhere in your open floor plan living room / kitchen [big grin] [big grin]
Very nice piece, that's definitely a piece to hang onto and pass on.

Very nicely done. I like the bevel on the frame. Definitely captured the era.  [thumbs up]

Seeing a piece styled like that brings back a lot of childhood memories.  Well done both in capturing the design and also the craftsmanship.

Really, really nice, and welcome to the forum, StanleyWC!  I love the little details like the hourglass shaped pull handles and the way the apron meets the legs.  Are those ebony pulls?  I would love to see and hear more on how you turned the legs and the joinery therein.

The pulls are walnut and the legs were purchased from Matt Burak(I turn but not well). Aprons are attached with dominoes at the leg after matching the radius with a spindle sander. This took a little bit of jigging to accomplish.  The whole base assembly was attached to the case with pocket screws.[attachimg=1]

I like it, good job!

That's friggin' classy. I think it would look really great with the mentioned huge TV on the wall with this serving as the AV receiver/dish box/video game console stand.

Nice job...really nice job! [big grin]

Are the shelves solid cherry or cherry ply?

Also, love the beveled front, the long mitered corners. and the sexy pulls. [thumbs up]
