This MFT worktop is rock steady enough to hand plane on despite just gravity holding it in place and the torsion box assembly table-top beneath being oiled (ages ago) so any spillage of Titebond can be removed easier.

Looks pretty solid, is the MFT plywood?

What did you oil the table top with? I love it that Titebond can be removed easily. Will TB just flake off or do you have to be a bit more agressive?

The MFT style tabletop is 25mm plywood, there's a large radius routed on the underside to allow Festool clamps to be used. The top of the assembly table beneath has a hardboard top treated with 3 coats of Danish Oil. Titebond 2 wipes off easily for a few minutes, the dried bits that I miss or would just be a bugger to get to get scraped off with a Stanley blade scraper.

This is where it's really handy having lots of the 15" right angle clamps, which not only aid assembly but I can also move the workpiece and know that everything will stay where I want it to.

Thanks WW, for the "3 coats of Danish Oil" tip!

The oil was only applied to the assembly table that is underneath the 8x4 plywood MFT - the holes in this were routed without any oil on the wood.
