Had one and hated it - too 'rattley', and it only fits in a Sys 2 (literally a few mm or so too high to fit in a Sys 1) which was poor use of the space. Made my own to fit in a Sys 1 in the end - much happier all round.

question is, does the case become "better" than the steel case that came with my Multimaster? outside of the fact that the systainers are awesome. festool koolaid and all.

Yup.

Got the systainer and insert from mysystainer.com a few weeks ago.  I also ordered the drawer unit that is only 4 small drawers to hold blades, sanding pads, etc.  There isn't enough room in the orginal Fein case or in the Sys2/insert for much.  It works out well, IMO.
