My box store orbital died. I have old hands. May I pick your brains about Festool?

I think he mans the reusable Longlife Filter Bags.

Nah, the standard bags are called Self-Clean. I think it was mostly due to the fact that they deflate and decake themselves when off. That said, I'm not entirely sure the new MIDI does that anymore given that they moved the reinforcement cardboard rib to the center which seems to keep it inflated every time I've opened it.

@onocoffee I can't speak for other countries but here in OZ a pack of 5 Midi bags is $83, so the $250 for the longlife bag is absolutely worth it for me. Even the CT36 that rarely gets emptied, also has a long life bag, just because. ;-)

The only extractor I have that uses original bags is my Festo SR5E, but only cause I bought a box of 5 bags when I got it 45 years ago and I slitted the end to fit a clamp on it to turn it into a long life bag. I'm on my 3rd bag now!

Long live the long life bags!
Wow. $83!?!? You guys really do pay so much more - and I thought the $50 for CT22 bags was expensive!

Yeah, anything from US or Europe we get absolutely reamed on. I vaguely recall when I got my SR5E ~45 years ago, the box of 5 paper bags was around the $20 mark, which back then was pretty much astronomical. I've made em last though! ;-)

I also remember trekking to the local Festo warehouse that did counter sales to buy a couple packs of 10 sheets for the new RS2E sander I'd bought, and the guy must have taken pity on me and slid me a few packs for free, I thought I'd won Tattslotto!
