My ghetto-fab Transit Connect Build-out

Been a while since my last post, but thought I'd share how I use my Festool tools/cases in my small Transit Connect and in my trade as an AV integrator.  Posted a similar thread on one of the integrator threads, but I thought you guys would get a kick out of it as well.  I'm by no means a master woodworker and am humbled by all the incredible work I've seen on this forum, but I've loved the Festool ecosystem since I was first exposed to it in 2004.

Anyhows, I finished my buildout about six months ago and I can say that gas mileage in my TC is still decent, even with a fully loaded vehicle. I'm still averaging low 20's with my mixed style of driving in this year-old vehicle.  Here's a few pics:

24 systainer cases loaded throughout the van, along with other work cases/tools.  We've tried to use up the space in this compact van as best as possible.  Wouldn't have been possible without making my own shelves.  And for that, I can thank many of the fine examples on this thread.

BTW, the orange tab on the bins is used to visually remind us that stock is low on a certain part and it needs to be refilled.

There is a problem with your attachments.  I was hoping to see them but unfortunately I can't.

Sorry about that Wooden Skye....think I fixed it...

Nicely done [wink]

I assume you've has some positive feedback from clients regarding your organisational presentation level. Do you think it helps drive/create new business?

We've had some positive feedback. Very few clients have seen it but lots of other peers in our partnering trades have (e.g. general builders; cabinet makers; interior designers; electricians; etc.). And a good portion of our referrals come from such partners.  I'd like to think that keeping an organized  work van can in some way reflect on how we conduct our normal workflow. But in the end, it makes me feel better knowing I can find what I'm looking for.

It's my belief that a well organized work truck, to a client is a calling card of things to come, I've had clients seem to almost let out a sigh of relief when I pull up and open my doors ...of course it's pretty easy to be a hero after a bunch of rough n tumble framers siders and roofers have been around long enough..lol
also I totally agree with you on recommendations from other trades, not many people will recommend your services if your going to embarrass them by pulling in like an unorganized slob....

I was able to glean some good ideas from many of the builds on this forum site.  Don't hate on my Harbor Freight level tho! [big grin]  I just needed a long straight edge, and this one is surprisingly straight, according to my laser level.
