I'm deeply saddened by the unfolding events in Paris this evening. I send my heart felt thoughts to all affected by these tragic events. I truly wish the world could be a more peaceful place.

Isis  reminds me of the "mass"  in the film  "The  Day the Earth Stood Still"  with Keanu Reeves.
Shoot into  it  and it just  gets bigger  and more dangerous.

That depends on what you 'shoot' it with.

This is such a horrible atrocity. Hard to believe this happened on European soil, in places I have been in the past. Slaughtered for nothing by people who mostly sought their own demise. Time for another article 5 intervention.

Luckily they're all 'wrong'

It is no secret where you can find the people responsible.

The problem is they hide in the vicinity of innocents and blowing them to h€ll comes at the price of collateral damage, i.e. more innocent lives lost. It's a catch 22 situation, don't do anything and they "win" respond and you risk stooping to their level by inflicting collateral damage.

Innocent? East / South of Greece?

Sometimes life imitates art imitates life right? Quinn in Homeland says press "Reset"

a bit like chemo, it might be the only succesful medicine, is the tough one.

Sending in armies in uniforms will always fail (read ineffective and lots of collateral damage) when you're fighting this type of hidden force. Better to create effective infiltration and destroy from within. Also a major campaign to effectively debunk their brainwashing ... their armies are deluded soles that think a suicide death will land them in heaven surrounded by virgins.

I feel there will always be war when such radically different belief systems are in play, but this group really needs exterminating!

Perhaps we an keep this thread on the track of sending our sympathies to the people of Paris, France, and those effected by the attacks.

My wife's family is of French descent on her Fathers side. All of our family expresses its sorrow and prayers for Paris and the victims, no matter where they're from.
Senseless acts.... [crying]
