My Review of the SysRoll Cart

Frank, With all of the plastic that is showing, that SysRoll Cart is taking a lot more punishment that I expected.  I think you started this thread back the end of April.  Did you get to try it during any of the extreme cold you get.  Sub-freezing weather seems to have a somewhat discouraging effect on plastic.  I can't think of anything you have not tried yet.  If I were still doing site work, i would have been sold on one a long way back.

There is just enough of a lip in the plastic on the bottom of the SysRoll to hold the propane tanks in place.

The snow had already left Toronto when I got the SysRoll in April,  When the snow comes back, I will try the SysRoll in it and report here.

Cool, so we should expect an update next week? :)

It looks like it would certainly work for my needs.

I'm sure that you meant to be funny Matt, but two nights ago the temperature dropped below freezing at the island.

Labour Day == The End Of Summer, certainly anywhere north of Highway 7 which runs along the north edge of the greater Toronto area.

I am planning to leave my SysRoll outside all winter.  We had a light (12 centimetre) snow fall last night and here is photo of the SysRoll taken this morning:

I tried pulling a loaded cart through the snow with this load:

[attachthumb=#1]

By the way, it is a real load for a real job.

The cart was easy to pull through the powdered snow.  Here is a photo of the trail that it left:

I wiil try this again when the snow conditions are different.

I don't see the "snow flake" on those tires Frank. That legal in Ontario?...

I just purchased one, but it will stay in them warm shop until it's required to make the journey outdoors.

David in Kelowna... +5c and a slight skiff of snow..

You must live east or north, huh?  We visited Toronto this past weekend and there was more than that.   It was downright bad west of town yesterday morning on our way home.   Saw a few serious looking accidents.

Incidentally, we visited Lee Valley and that was the first chance I've gotten to see one of these in person.   Definitely on my wishlist.
Yes Matt, I live in the north-east part of the City of Toronto.

Lee Valley is my favourite store.

I wouldn't leave anything Festool outside. The cart is mostly plastic and aluminium, right, but it must have some iron parts too. Festool iron rusts like crazy.

Thanks for the warning Alex.

The cart has been outside for two months and I have not noticed any rust.  But, I might have missed it so I will conduct a close examination later today.

I'm waiting for the pictures of Frank with a SysRoll and a team of sled dogs crossing the Antarctic [wink] [big grin]

It kind of looks like you're heading to a curling tournament and expecting to make the trophy on the spot, Frank?

'Just kidding...

What a great word to make up Jeff.  [thumbs up]  And it's kind of appropriate.

The cart is still outside.  Right now, we are having an ice storm in Toronto and a few icicles have formed upon it.

[attachthumb=#1]

Festool supplied the SysRoll for me to test.  So, in spite of the worry that some parts might not like to be left out in the snow and rain, I am going to leave it out all winter.

I'm sorry Frank, but that's neglect, bordering on abuse. [unsure]

I'm gonna have to report you to shane.... [tongue]

I use studs on my tires in winter.  They really help with driving on ice.  Are they legal for you to use on your island when driving the Sysroll? "Iditaroll" some body mentioned.

I think Frank has his "Iditarol" sitting in his yard in Toronto.  Every body knows it don't snow much around there.  ::)
Now, if he were to take it up to his Island a few miles north of Toronto where they really do get a bit of snow, those tracks might just be a little more handy for him.  ;) [popcorn]
