Need tool holder for CT Midi I

Purchased CT Midi I handle kit, great option for ease of movement and cord storage. Still no tool holder or boom arm support though, so a snub at those of us trying to get some sanding done. There’s a boom arm tool holder #493558, anyone know if one of those will screw onto. CT Midi I handle? Alternatively, has anyone rigged up a #496122 tool holder? Or any other homemade solutions? Surprised Festool has been so stingy with accessories to support their $640 product. If I had caught this limitation I would have gone for the CT-26, which has all options available including boom arm, work center, tool holder, etc.

Thanks neilc. The new handle kit for the CT Midi I now includes an integrated tool holder very similar to what you crafted. Has 3 holes that I use for brushes, etc. I was wondering about how to cobble a power tool holder onto the handle, to hold an ETS EC 125 Sander, Jigsaw, etc. And am also looking for a boom arm solution. I saw a homemade boom arm last night that was fashioned from 3/4" EMT. The author connected the pipe to his handle using two EMT "cowboy" conduit clamps that have a back plate with a hole in it so you can attach it to a wall - or in his case, put two back-to-back to lock the 1 1/4" handle pipe and 3/4" EMT pipe together. Thought that was really cool, so am now thinking of either making the same boom arm or perhaps just a mast that I can plop the Festool Power Tool Holder onto. I need to find out what the diameter of the Festool Boom Arm pipes are, since the tool holder fits that size.

Yeah understand, also the party line from Festool applications guy. Think I can overcome the tipping problem pretty easily but the least they could do is provide a short mast option to hold a power tool like a sander. I love my Midi but it gets frustrating having nowhere to set tools down. I don't think a sander w/ attached hose hanging off a pole is going to tip the unit but I'm only guessing. I'm going to try an experiment. Just measured the handle, it's 1" diameter exactly. Festool app guy told me the Festool boom arm is 36.5mm diameter (1.44"). So will fashion a pipe-to-pipe connection using a 1" or 1.25" EMT pipe and back-to-back EMT cowboy clamps. Maybe 4' tall or so. The Festool 493558 may not fit on the 1.25" pipe so the 1" is back-up. Add a set-screw connector to the top and screw on a cap, should work OK for hanging a sander on. If not, onto the CT-26 to solve this and other limitations of the CT Midi I.

Really, it’s barely suitable for the CT 26. I don’t use the fold out support legs, but securing it to the table instead.

If you have the handle for the MIDI, you will do a much neater version by yourself - that beats the “original” - That combo is heavy.
I’ve put my WCR 1000 on the MIDI, and that works well, even that is high off ground when extended.

Thanks FestitaMakool, the WCR-1000 fits on the CT-Midi I ? (New Midi)  Does it actually clip in like it would on the CT-26 or do you have to manually secure it? I am really keen on that idea but immediately dismissed it, thinking it would be too difficult to manually hack a way to attach it. Does the Midi roll around ok without wanting to tip over? If you can share a pic or two that would be much appreciated.

Sorry for my late reply.
I did post here for what I did. It was a bit of a hassle, but in the end it came out all right.
It’s not finished to be pretty, but it’s fully functional. That is, I wanted it to fit both my MIDI and my CT 26 - with handle. I could have filed down the tabs on the WCR 1000 bottom plate, but it still wouldn’t have fitted either with the handles on.
It’s a sandwich of plates, but it’s rigid and solid. And it is quite stable, the CT 25 loads more, but on fairly even ground I believe most would be happy with it on the top of the MIDI or MINI.

I know this is an ancient thread I am reviving - but I have been researching this for a week or so and finally gave up and called Festool USA - spoke with a nice gentleman and he gave me the breakdown

The "new" WCR-1000 TLOC will fit a "new" CT Midi - but how do you tell if you have the "new" MIDI - if it has all buttons - it is new - knobs or turn dials = old

So, even though the verbiage doesn't say it will fit it is more of a puzzle - so they don't list it as it would get complicated

Cliff notes - New WCR-1000 TLOC works fine with the "new" all pushbutton CT MIDI

I am headed to the store in a few minutes to get one and if for some reason it doesn't work I'll edit this immediately

I open the lid and dump everything in there. Just like I did with my CTL 22 and the CTL 26. The 26 has the handle sticking into that garage, the 22 does not. Can hold multiple tools. It won't fit my SDS-Max hammer, but what does?

Well, I got my TLOC WCR1000 a few weeks ago and it works perfectly fine on my CT MIDI - a bit tight, but it fits and the TLOC holds it in place with no issues.

Local dealer had a sale and finally sold out of the old style and ordered the new 577253 TLOC version and saved one for me.

Extremely happy except the price - ugghhh - but Cest La Vie
