I have to save some space when taking the domino to a job.

Another option is the Sys-Combi.  I keep my 500 in a Sys2-Combi.  The SYS2 was getting really tight with all the accessories.  The combi drawer, though a little smaller than a SYS1, adds a good amount of room for accessories/tenons that I might need on the go.

I think I will stick to my usual method of jointing with a few Domino's and a few screws.
This system is not only an expensive option but would take longer to do also.
While I like the look of this system and the previous one for the DF700 the initial cost of kit and cost of parts is a deal breaker.

Which would have the downside of having to obtain a DF 500 (as I have a 700XL)

Downside is the price point: >2€ per connector dosn't make it that attractive, compared to existing systems.

That's the kicker - how expensive/fast will it be in comparison to existing cam and dowel systems (and I'm already jigged up for them)

Hopefully I will get a chance to see them first hand in action on Thursday.    I have seen them and examples of what they produced already.  If so I will let you guys know.

I have been waiting to see if and when these came out.  I personally think that these will get traction in the market of smaller shops or those who may only occasionally have a need if they are already accustomed to using the Domino on a regular basis and if they already use the LR-32 for limited runs of 32 mm holes.  Adding onto a system that you are already accustomed to might be more appealing than buying the stand alone jigs for doing the conventional cam knockdown fittings.

That systainer set does look really nice! I have just never seen myself having a need to build any knock down furniture.

In packages of 4 - 8 connectors, this would make sense for me. I can’t see ever using the volume that Festool offers in their base package.

With a son in the Marines and a daughter going in the Coast Guard, this my be the ticket to make knock down furniture for them. If its easly to assemble and disassemble when they move.

Ill wait and see what the price of the kit will be to determine how qickly ill run out and buy one.

I can see Sedge and Steve scratching their heads on how to work this into their training regimen.

Yep, got one on order. I was wondering if something like these knockdown connectors were going to come out because I just built a platform bed and couldn't use the larger ones. So the bed went together with Simpson framing hardware and now Festool announces these parts. I may have to rebuild the bed, sorry Simpson...

Looks like its a complete kit including the drill guide. Though pricey, Ill get one when they come out. Im not in no hurry. Ill wait till I can finagle the cash somehow.

Can someone comment on the veneer sheet good in the pic below? It's not typical of what we find over here in the US. The core looks rather porous and so I am wondering how the weight of this material might compare say to plywood or even particle board.

It looks like it's lumber core. I have seen it here in the states and even used a little quite a few years ago, although you don't see it often.

I did fondled some when I was in the the UK.

The weight of the piece that I had (a small sample) was less then what the weight of our ply is.

Johnny round Boy brought it to my first festool Bbq I had over there.

This is called „Tischlerplatte“ in German. Maybe you might know this as CLV or coreboard?

It is solid lumber core (softwood) with veneer on both faces.
