There has been all kinds of talk and chatter about the Rotex Ro 90 sander. But you do not hear much about the new Carvex PS400 jig saw? It will be out in a few months.

Is there nothing new and exciting to discuss about the Carvex PS400?

Greg, there's been a lot of discussion about the Carvex already.  [smile] My guess is, all mouths have gone numb by now from discussing it.

Michael has done some really good reviews of the Carvex and they are on You Tube

Thanks Gus, Michael has done several videos, four I think, on the PS400. One discussed the problems with the guide Rail  base plate. Anyone know if the base plate has been re-engineered?

Greg, I suspect we'll be talking again about the Carvex around May or so, after we've worn the new off our RO90s. [big grin]

That is kind of what i was thinking.

I hope someone YELLS loud enough for me to hear on the first day they become available because I really want one! The old 300 will be retired to shop use like lightening.  It would be nice if you could pre-order.  From the looks of it, it will be a massive improvement over the ps300, which is by far the only festool I have really felt let down about.

Sorry Greg for not jumping in quicker here, but I was real busy last couple of days..

Actually, the Adapter base for the guide rail was fixed in June 2010 - not sure, if i already mentioned that here in the review section.
The base works just great, so no complaints about that anymore.
There is a great video of an Russian Woodworking Pal - Dimitry Dovchenko - doing some serious cuts with the Carvex and adapter base/guide rail combo - it shows what you can expect:
kind regards, Mike

They are great reviews micheal, how about a follow up review now that you've been using the tool for a few months?

Mike, how about some video of the dust collection and your thoughts on the visibility with the dust shroud in place.
