NEW: Festool SYSLITE LED accu lamp

I decided to get a T15 instead. A big drawback to that I see now is that Festool doesn't have a compatible torch light, while other brands sell these things for over 10 years, and they sell 'em like crazy.

Alex, as you will probabely know the Protool FLC UNI is compatible with many types of Festool batteries.
Since I have no Protool machines I only use it with Festool batteries.
It works great with all 12V batteries (NiCd, NiMH and Li-Ion).

Should not be to difficult for Festool to replace the orange button with a green one and place a Festool logo?
And the cost is only ±€54.

What if they didn't make any changes to it?

I would be happy with a set of half-way decent worklights that would politely pack into a systainer of pretty much any size, big or small.

Harry,

Try this....    http://www.talkfestool.com/vb/festool-tanos-all-things-systainer/4264-light-kit-systainer.html

Keep in mind I did not build this for heavy duty construction site use or for sites with a bunch of people swinging boards around. But if working alone or with one other it is great for lighting up a room or work area. Highly addaptable, and very low cost  except for the Systainer. But the Sys is what makes it extra convienient within the system, and provides a built in stand.

Alex I thought I would just post to say I tottally agree with what your saying with the ''SYSTEM'' it should not have a built in battery!

++++++++++++ 1

I hate built in batterie stuff any way!

Those lights seem like they are included in almost every package deal of battery tools.  I would guess that is why they sell well not because they are in high demand.  Just my 2c.

They are included in package deals because manufacturers found out those packages sell better that way than without them.  [tongue]

But you can buy almost every lamp separately also.

Nobody goes to a job to work for hours with a battery light.

Construction sites with no power hookup (people working with generators, gas-powered compressors, and such) might find such a lighting solution particularly useful.

Same for the movie industry; high-end battery-powered lights like this exist there for much the same reason:

Thanks, this light looks good but I'd still like to see one in person first.

Yes agreed, and a little more detailed technical specs...if it ever gets here, which I am assuming will be "later" rather than sooner.

Someone posted this pdf from Belgium in another thread. If you go to page 14 you'll see some photos of the light in action, compared to other lights' coverage areas.

Brice,

It's on the way.  They'll need a signature for delivery.  [wink]

[big grin] [thumbs up]  Comedy! (JMB needs to start to copyright his language use!)

Yo!

Just spoke to Rexy!

He has told me he has had a feel with the new Syslite!

He told me the Festool Rep showed him how robust the light was!    He said the Festool Rep walked into the warehouse and just threw the light across the room onto the concrete floor  he then banged the light against the corner of a table and it didnt crack and still works fine! He said they gave it some abuse!  He said of course this is just on its own not with a battery attached to the back of it as the battery wont be able to withstand the abuse but the built in battery does.

I think it's smart and if it really can throw some light and even spread it too, I can see many situations where I can use it, as sometimes a flashlight is too narrow and dark, and big 220Volt lights usea lot of power, or the neon tube burn out way too often, and is quite expensive to replace, which I had had to do a few times.

Price? Way over the top as usual with Festool, but great products.

Chance of buying one?: Very good.

Why?: Because the oilkit was deemed useless or way too expensice by some people, and I bought it and use it, and it's so easy and good for me to use ;)

Cheers,
Jacques.

To backup whT JMB said, I've also seen two SYSLite take some abuse and survive inscaved. You will be surprised how bright and even the light from it is.
