So what are the new tools?

I see some pictures of mains drill on the .de site and slingers have told me there is a product launch in Leeds today, so what's the new tools.

They have re branded protool as festool so potentially all the 'new' tools are green protool. There is a video on the festool uk site

There's been nothing about this on the events/exhibitions pages on the UK site, so I guess it was a private affair - possibly to present the tools to dealers?

I don't think anyone has yet posted a comprehensive list of all the tools released...

yep, it's a dealer only event. once dealers are sorted, then it's customer shows and private sessions. Can't wait.

Good Evening

I'm going to a Dealer Event on Thursday at Southampton for a full run down of what is occurring. If I can I'll report back and give you all the heads up on the new products.

Best regards

Warren

I notice that on the Festool UK Events page they've added loads of dealer events for September (there were virtually none a couple of weeks ago).

Unfortunately the one at A-One Tools (about 15 mins from me) is whilst I'll be in New York, and I'm not enough of a Festool geek to cancel THAT trip!!!

Hi guys

You can see some of the new range at this site.
Came across it while looking for more info on the sds drill.
You might have to look through the festool section to see all the new stuff.
From what I saw I think there's about 8-9 new tools.

http://www.healystool.co.uk/Festool-Cordless-hammer-drill--BHC-18-Li-4-2-Plus-GB-564506-id48012.html

Not much info out there yet, didn't stop me pre ordering the BHC 18, 2 mft systainers and the new tool box lol
Should receive them in 12 days time [big grin]

Regards Mo

Cheers Mo!

If you go to that site & enter "new festool" in the search box, it brings up everything.

There's several drills (4x Quadrills, 2x DuroDrive, and 18V cordless hammer), the sword saw (chainsaw on guide rail), and the new toolboxes seen previously.

Strangely, one of the new tools is a CT17 extractor, which seems a bit odd, given that a) that size is already covered by the midi, b) that you can't fit systainers to the top, c) it comes with a non-AS hose, and d) it costs roughly the same as the midi...

Just as an FYI to the UK colleagues -

here are some pictures from the german Festool Roadshow, which is currently running:

hopefully the pictures are accessable from the UK - short feedback would be great

If you look close into some pictures, you will notice some machines now being green, which have been Orange before :)
It was foreseeable Festool would not keep two different product lines which adress two very close markets - which all the effort of separate departments -
except the developement, which was already a joint effort since 2010 ...

have fun !
kind regards, Mike

Saw one of the dealers mention they'd be doing some special deals on the "existing" Midi so had assumed it would be replaced with a newer model. Perhaps it's just being replaced by a "different" model instead?

I really hope not - that CT17 looks crap!

The CT17 is a smaller version to the Mini, not a replacement to the Midi or Mini. Not sure it is going to be any good.

Not all of the new tools are rebadged Protools. I'm sure Festool UK will provide more information about new products soon.
