This is nothing compared to some of the work I have seen around here, but it made my wife happy so I guess it’s not nothing.  [big grin]

The demo of the closet (real plaster reinforced with wire) was a nasty challenge, then it was a matter of making four boxes — two for the banks of drawers and two for the upper cabinet. Trimming it in with my most definitely not square, definitely not plumb house was a bit of a challenge. The drawer boxes went together with 5mm dominos, as did the frame and panel cabinet doors.

Materials are just HD birch plywood, painted with SW Pro Classic.  Simple design, but I like the Shaker-like simplicity.

Very well done!  I like the simplicity and the choice of hardware.  My guess is that your wife is telling EVERYONE about it!

I especially like the exposed Domino drawer sides, but it's a detail that most would miss.

Nice work, simple and mom's happy...if Mom ainted happy, ainted nobody happy

I recall when I was a kid and visiting relatives that lived in older homes how magical it was seeing built ins. At least to a kid. [emoji23]

I still don’t live in a house with any but I would if I could find a spot for one.

Good job.
