New hose, old tools

Hi folks- I've got several older Festool tools (sanders and domino) that don't work well with the new lock-style hoses. Are there any adapters that fit nicely on the ribbed-style vac ports on tools that then lock on to the hose?

Or track down an old style tool end connector and replace the new style.  I did.  Have to find a dealer with NOS or maybe a FOG member that has an extra.

Mirka makes a nice hose end for 27mm hoses. It's easier to install/remove, likely because you can thread a 27mm hose directly on to many of their sanders. The rubber on the hose end is nearly identical to the "classic" Festool hose end, and plays nicely with most tools intended to interface with a 27mm hose.

They still don't last forever and eventually all will have worn out.

But this really surprises me. I hate having a bunch of dust drop out of the bajonet when using in things like floor cleaning, TS.. but the fit on the sanders (RTS 400 etc.) is just fine, imho.

Even then stuff will still drop to the floor as there is no flow on the side of the bajonet

For many of Festool's tools, you can get replacement parts from ekat that have the updated bayonet connection. I swapped out the dust chute on my domino, just note that it's a little bit longer so it doesn't quite fit the original systainer insert. Might want to order a replacement one of those while you're at it too for certain tools.
