This is my first post. I've been a long time reader and have learned a lot from everyone here. For Christmas my dad surprised me with a brand new Kapex. I was super stoked and knew I wanted to make a nice home for it.

The top is 1 inch baltic birch with Incra T track installed. My festool quick clamps fit perfect in the incra track. The 2 fences are 1530 series 8020 extrusion. They can be easily moved forward and backwards and side to side in the incra track. With a longer stop block it makes it very simple to rezero the fence to the blade if I do move the fences. So far I'm pretty happy with the setup and am loving the saw! I still need to add a few finishing details and make a more permanent solution for the dust collection hose.

Thanks for looking. Any feedback would be appreciated :-)

Josh

You beat me to it -- I am also planning a Kapex bench, using 8020 1530; I even got the black too (there just happened to be a good selection on the ebay store).

The only addition I plan on making is using other 8020 parts to create a flip stop.

Very cool Stoli. I'd love to see what you come up with for the flip stops. To be honest I went with the black just because I liked the look. I was very impressed with how robust the extrusion was.

Please keep up the posts on this topic. I too am looking to build a Kapex miter station and also want to use 8020. Would love to see more pics.

That is a beautiful set up, can't wait to see the work you put out now. Love the black extrusion.

Your dad is awesome too for buying you a Kapex! Great looking space you have there

Hi Josh

Excellent piece of work - what a great Dad you have.

The Incra "T" track is brilliant and will make good hold-downs etc.

Peter

Thanks Peter. I gotta say I've been inspired by much of your work and love your YouTube videos. My dad definitely spoiled me.

Here are a few more pics.

A section of track can be used as a straight edge along the extrusion to realign the fence.

Very nice job, Josh! Wanna come build one for me?

[wink]

I was just using a couple of the Incra Build It brackets. They allow me to move the fence side to side and front to back pretty easily if I need to.

Thanks, Josh! I figured it was something like that. I've got all sorts of ideas spinning in my noggin now.

Great job!

I picked up a kapex too on this 10 off deal and am looking to build a home for it in my shop. Thanks for sharing.

Hey there Josh, thanks for the great post of your set up...

I just wanted to know where you got your aluminium extrusions from? and are they 8020 or is it 8040? and just one more thing how did you attach your ruler strip?

Thanks again

Cheers
Ernest
