Also picked up a 50 box of Granat 80 grit and 100 grit.

Excuse used for spending $1100? Had to finish off the back side of my garage and resurfacing the deck before the winter and sale of the house.

I'd give the power on this thing a 10/10. Good god...The easy at which it could fling itself around took some getting used to and I'm still getting used to it.

I'm using granat 80 grit in rotex mode.. I'm really abusing the paper trying to get through multiple layers... I like I should get some 40 possibly.

Dust collection seems to be 10/10. I've got half the garage tarp'd in a sort of plastic tent because there is most likely lead paint. Other than large flying chips I couldn't detect a lick of dust in the air.

Build Quality 10/10 so far. Love the fit and finish.

My only gripe is that the vac didn't even come with any kind of nozzle.. Would it have killed festool to toss a crevice tool in for $500+!?  [crying]

Ya you would be better off using 40 grit granat or 36 grit saphir for tough paint removal..

Rotex modus is hard to control, I guess you build up a technique, and of course the speed could be set a little lower and vac suction has a bearing too.

I've got the cheapest compact cleaning kit.. I'm using it with my midi, though The attachments aren't that robust but if all you need is the crevice nozzle that wouldn't be a problem.
