Thanks, Michael, Tom & Tim for your finishing help. Here's the finish project. It's a new clock for the wall in my shop. Handcut the dovetails in the casework corners. Dominos in the face frame. 17"x17"x5" deep. QSRO.

Nice looking clock. I'm a big fan of QSWO.

Tom

I am too so Blackberry should be extra proud since this is QSRO  [wink]

I hereby disavow any credit for so I can say the finish is gorgeous!
You also did a nice job picking out the plain sawn figure for the inner face.
(The figure of plain sawn oak can get out of proportion.)

Wow, that is one simple, but elegant looking clock.  And I echo the comments on the nice selection of wood and matching of grain.  Hard to believe this is the one you were having finishing issues with in your other post.

Is that a small magnetic latch at the bottom of the door?  How did you mount the glass?

Thanks for sharing!

that came out looking beautiful. I always want to try my hand at building a clock case and learning to make hand cut dovetails. they are on my list

Yes it’s a 5/16 magnet, probably not necessary but it’s there.

Thanks for the compliments.

I found a spot for it.
