UJK has a new router jig for making dados but goes beyond that offering some additional features.
At first glance you'd say it's similar to the DadoMax or the DadoMaster jigs from a few years ago but it does more.
Years ago I needed a router dado jig and couldn't find one for sale anywhere so I built my own to keep the job going. It worked well enough and with my compact router I made all the dados I needed for the kitchen island I was building. That job was just simple dados many were stopped and could not be cut on the TS. They could be done with a edge guide and any router but making exact width dados I like to use an undersize bit and cut in two passes so I made this jig which uses the thickness of the workpiece to set the width of the dado for a perfect fit. I used a 1/2 bit with a 1" guide bushing IIRC.
To me it appears that the new UJK jig will have this capability too and more. I'd like to test this new jig when it's available here and compare it to the DadoMax and my home brew jig.
