the  foam is now used in ts 75 saw case. at least in mine.....that sucks if there is no introductory offer....that takes the sting out of forking over a couple of grand....kind of.......................sort of. boy, price increase and no introductory offers...............i guess once the dealer has hooked his addicts; there is no reason to worry. :-\

Hi,

  Do you have other Festools with the plastic inserts?  If so how does the foam compare?  Does it seem like it will hold up?

Seth

actually i inject foam into the backs of the plastic inserts making them strong and durable. without the the are a little too flexible. after a flatten the foam i paint the bottom with latex paint to resist the foam dust from getting around. the new materials seems good so far. i am not blaming the dealers for the prices ,,,in know how the pricing works.

Is the 2200 really 20 amps?  How many have a 20amp outlet?  I doubt you can use it to autostart the vac?  Am I missing something?

Power=Voltage x Current

so on 110v, this (20A) is about 2000 watts, on 220/240volts, its about half, e.g. 10A, fine of a 13A UK socket

The OF 2200 is rated for 2200 watts. Assuming you have 110V at the outlet, (sometimes a big assumption), it draws 20 Amps at full load. I don't think you'll ever see full load.

This router has soft start so you won't get a starting spike.

You can use it with the CT 22 or CT 33.

I have 20-amp outlets in my garage/shop but I ran a dedicated circuit and put in 20-amp outlets so I could have plenty of power.

While the Festool website claims 18 amps, the tool is stamped 15 amps and is documented the same in the owners manual. At least mine is!

I don't recall the 2200 I checked out being stamped with an amp rating, it had the normal watts rating.

Received mine about 2 weeks ago and it is labeled on the tool at 15 amps. Was the first thing I looked for as was wanting to know the load to use with the CT vacs. Have not tried to verify with a meter.

I wonder if all Festool's tools will be rated in amps now, I hope so. I think it was Nick that was real critical about the wattage rating, it this case he's right, off by five amps.
