I have made some built in's for the bathroom out of cherry. This is my first attempt at cabinet's. I have only done boxes with fine joinery up to this point and I've alway's used Watco and done a hand rubbed finish. Would a Watco oil finish work well on these cherrry doors. It's a small project and I wouldn't be doing my normal 4-5 coats.

For what it's worth.....I just purchased a domino jointer. Much easier/faster than cutting mortise and tenon on my shaker doors.

i think you will be pleased with watco  i have used it on my bathroom wood work and it does not peal etc since it is in the wood not on the wood  it will never be glossy but is ease to rejuvenate with a wash with water and bon ami cleanser and then  when dry  more watco    you might check  allback organic linseed paints  a good alternative to watco    w.w.w.solventfreepaint.com  they have finishes like watco that do not change the woods color  just protect the wood    john runyon

Watco Danish Oil is a combination of oil, varnish, and mineral spirits.  It will provide pretty minimal protection from water and steam, but its reasonably easy to repair.  If you are looking for a wipe-on, Waterlox will provide a little more protection.
