OK. Confession time. What woodworking stuff are you hoping to get as gifts?

I would wish for a CTL 36 AC dust extractor, an MFT/3 table set and a TS75 saw to start off with and maybe a RO90 to top it off.

Unfortunately the reality will be that all of those are way too expensive for our family standards for gifts nor are any of them self made so they default on both Christmas present criteria.  [sad]

So I'm getting a bit exited what my daughter and son have hand crafted for me since I've been thrown out of the house for many evenings over the last month because of 'elf business'.

I made these trivets for the Mrs.

My list looks something like this:

TS 55 or 75 (requires demo time at a dealer)
LS 130
A concave pad for the LS suitable for 3/4" round
Abrasives for the LS 130
Guide Rail Accessory Kit
50 mm x 2.5 m AS hose + a Systainer 4 to put it in

and after that list is filled:

RO 90
CXS
T18
MFT/3
Kapex

I just asked for some accessories for tools I already have...got a lot of new Festool stuff this year.  Of course, in a little over a week it is a new year  [laughing]!

Would love to add a Kapex, but I am holding off for the new Domino XL...

CMS of course. Time in my shop would be great! Happy Hollydays to all!

I think you need to lobby for a change in criteria for gifts given to yourself - leveraging the point that they would be part of the cycle for the next season of giving  [big grin]

As song goes (Dire Straits before it was covered as a country song!):

"Somedays you're the windshield, Somedays you're the bug"

Today, I was the windshield.

I dropped by the grocery store which is next to our local Festool dealer and was shocked to see a "Closing, 30% off" sign in the window. This was a bit of a shocker to me, it was one of the bright things for me to have this resource in our little podunk town. So in one fell swoop, we're losing both the Festool Dealer AND the Rockler dealer. On top of that, it's owned and run by a family whose kids I went to High School with (they were all working in the store too).

The bad news is, Festool came and took all the new tools, not allowing there to be any clearances.

The good news? They had just a couple demo items left including 4 sanders. I wasn't interested in the sanders, but I did manage
to pick up both an MFS400 and MFS700, with two router slides, for just over $100! that's nearly $1000 worth of accessories!

So, Merry Christmas to me, but best wishes to the dealers who did their best to weather the storm in this tough economy.

I'm getting an ETS 150/5 for Christmas and it's sitting under the tree right this moment. I'm not allowed to open it early so I just stare at the box with visions of sanding in my near future!  :)

My extra large stocking is hanging and ready to accept the Parallel Guide system with extensions. Ordered the package myself.

The only Festool I asked Santa for was a 5mm router bit.  There were a few other items on the list from Woodpecker, but I am trying to accumulate good points because I am in need of a good router table and I am hoping that maybe 2012 will be the year of the CMS coming to North America in a router table format.

MacGyver asked for a Festool dog bed, but the only green thing for him under the tree are Greenies.

From festool I'd love the of1010, but I have the 1400 and the 700, so it's hard to justify.

I did order the fastcap best fence system with an extra 57" extension and Kapex mounts. I won't use the stand but it was still cheaper to order than the individual parts.

I also got a 6 1/2 makita 18v circular saw to round out my portables.

I have about a $300,000 wish list from Festool, Felder, Agazzani, Lie Nielsen, Lee Valley, Marcou, Glen Drake, Blue Spruce, Kreg, Miller Buildings and several others.  All I really NEED for Christmas is a winning lottery ticket.

Well, I do have a concept called 'the good fellow gift' i.e. when feeling the need for something nice I treat myself to what ever happens to tickle my fancy at the moment and finances let me indulge myself in without too much naggin from my SO. Unfortunately this Christmas finances were so so -> ended up getting a 80lbs pistol crossbow for summer fun with the kids in the backyard instead of more green shinies [tongue]

If I want it i have to buy it santa sent me an email and says that I was naughty all year... excellent ! but I am also very nice he said by putting up with all of you wonderful folks so it becomes a  wash he said zero'd out. so he ain't giving me nothing... so I am going to buy the 2200 router on wednesday and then that completes my festool of having 99% of everything they make...well 90%

did buy myself the occidential new leather usa made carpenters tote bag and it is really awesome

so if you want it buy it.. if you don't have the money, then charge it...can't charge it? then get rid of a kid or wife(husband) and then buy it with all the money you are saving. [laughing] [laughing]

Okay you have to tell more "about plug it conversion for multimaster"

that makes total sense to me.... the Multimaster is one tool that gets used as often as Festools..

Tell me more, Please

Cheers,
Steve.
