Has anyone had any experience with the Bosch 35 mm hose or the Mr. vac 2-1/2 hose. I can not see how the Festool is worth $150 when the Bosch is $35. I have not used the Bosch but have used the Mr. Vac with RO 150 and a floor drum sander with great success. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have 2 Bosch hoses. The original 27mm sits in a drawer now (anyone?). I want to make 2 shorter hoses out of one of them and one is for sanding.
Nothing wrong with em. Work great and connect to any Fessy attachment I have.

I have the Bosch VAC005 5-Meter Vacuum Hose 35mm and it's definitely lighter in construction than the Festool hoses and the tool end will fit Festool tools.
The weight can be good and bad. The hose is easily crushed or creased, but it's lighter on a job site.
The end fittings are not as good (don't swivel) as the Festool ones. But a hose is a hose is a hose I suppose.
I also have the Bosch 3931 3-Meter (9.85') Anti-Static Hose 35mm which is almost as good as the Festool hose but the fittings are not as good the Festools.

Has anyone tried the Clarke hoses off eBay?  Supposedly made in Germany, but the seller says they need an additional fitting for Festool.

Clarke 1-1/2" x 25' vacuum hose / also used for Alto, Wap, Festool          http://r.ebay.com/XGHA1r

When I'm using the tracksaw, I'd like something as supple as possible.

I have a couple of the Bosch VAC005 hoses and they are a great deal. They also are way inferior to the Festool Hoses. It really depends on what you want.

I like the fact that the Bosch hose is 5 meters long and 35mm diameter but has the same end as the Festool 27mm hose. I don't like that the hose is thinner and much easier damaged or that the rubber on the tool end is stiffer and much shorter lasting than the Festool. If you are using a non-static vac like some of my Fein Vacs and want a long hose with a Festool 27mm end, they are fabulous for $35. If you are expecting Festool quality for one third the price, well, prepare to be disappointed. I put a Festool 36mm hose end on one hose and left the other with the poor-quality Festool 27mm end and am very happy for the money paid.

I also have some real Festool non-antistatic hoses and consider them worth their price for their intended use. It really depends on what you want for the job.

Joe, I just rec'd this exact hose from the ebay seller. This hose is tougher then any of my Festool hoses, static or non. The large swivel end plugs right into my CT22 and CT26. The other end does not hook up to my cleaning sets. But the seller does sell a attachment end that works with the tools and such. I did not purchase his tool end adapter.

But the kool thing is I added a 36mm Festool hose adapter end to this Clarke vac hose, fit together no problem since this hose is 36mm. Now low and behold my curved cleaning set plastic piece no longer slides out of the hose adapter. This was a big issue I was having with the curved end constantly coming loose from the adaptor end. Not sure why but the fit is now tighter...

does anyone know if the clarke hose is anti-static?

Ted, your saying that the festool replacement hose end/connector will attach right to the clarke hose once you remove the other one?  festool part #487721  ?

John, I have no idea if this hose is anti static. It seems to be the exact same material and color as the Festool non anti static hoses.

Yes the 36mm Festool Adapter fits onto the Clarke hose perfect. The Clarke swivel end fit into both my CT22/26 with zero slop...
