Overhead Blade Guard

Do any of you guys have an overhead blade guard on your tablesaw?

I've been looking at a Delta Uniguard for my 20 year old Delta contractors saw. I've been finding myself leaving the guard off the saw when I switch between through cuts and grooving cuts and wanted something that would be on the saw all the time. One of the reasons I was looking into the Uniguard is it is about a hundred dollars less than the next guard. I was just wondering if it's worth the money or if I should just stick with the stock guard.

Have it on my Bridgewood cabinet saw and love it. Easy to use, comes with a splitter. Only wish was that it included dust collection but not really needed. Love the split guard as it allows me to do narrow cuts. I use many things for protection and the UniGuard is the primary device. Still use feather boards and push blocks.

I had a Biesemeyer overarm guard on my PM66 and LOVED it.Great guard and would buy it again.

Peter, I forgot what a pain the stock guard is on narrow cuts. The Uniguard would be a big help there too.

I'll have to look into the Biesemeyer guard too. I just have a portable dust collector, so dust collection in the overhead guard isn't important right now as the collector would be hooked to the saw.

Alan, I'm behind on projects right now so I probably won't try to build my own guard.

I have the larger Brett Guard that's now sold by HTC. It does have a 2" dust pick-up port on top of the clear plastic guard to help with sawdust. Very rugged, easy to use, and you can flip it up out of the way if needed for certain sawing operations. I think the model is the 50A version
