This is what i was able to do this summer with an old abandonned cabin with the help of Festools. I am so happy with the results. Actually the front patio window is temporary, we are looking for something that won't have middle post to block view.

Which sander? Replace the pad, if it is the RAS get the pad that accepts standard disk for the heavy work and the StickFix for the medium to light work.

You read correctly, the heat destroys the pad. I have the same problem with the one on my Fien MM (I don't own a Deltex).

Nice work on the cabin. Cleaned up real good.

As for the pad, you're best off buying a new one (pack of 2). These pads wear out quickly. I suggest buying the hard pad, they last longer than the standard (soft) ones. Upside is that they're not that expensive.

Sanding sealer is clear and gloss free if you do not build up a thick layer.  Sanding Sealer is a clear lacquer used by Pattern makers.  Dries real fast.  The cabin looks great

You might want to take a look at using Osmo PolyX Satin for the finish inside.  It would be a two-coat wipe-on/wipe-off in your case.  Try some on scrap material to see if you like it.  It has worked well where I've used it, and has left a very nice, satin finish that doesn't attract dust the way a pure oil seems to do over time.

This is an update on the panabode. We took almost a year off this project. If anyone has an idea on what to put as a finish on the inside walls please post your ideas. I would prefer a clear non glossy finish. I was thinking of a wax  or something similar that would be fairly easy to apply.

Have you considered one of the Festool Surfix oils? They leave a nice matte finish that brings out the grain of the wood. Easy to apply and long lasting, especially on walls.

Nice job on the foundation...that was probably an interesting project. Did you do the foundation yourself? [eek]
