Thinking about getting the festppl cordless percussion drill. The main application I would use the drill for is in partnership with the dab mortiser for mortise locks. I know the corded pd20 can be used to do so as I've seen a video on YouTube unfortunately  they don't do it in 110v Is the cordless percussion drill basically the same ? Anyone who has it spud you recommend it ?

Just curious, but why is a percussion drill required? Would a T18 do the job?

BTW, a friend's iPhone had some dead areas on the screen. One of the dead areas included a couple of letters required for his password. Bad situation.

Hi, if you are talking about the Souber DBB morticer I think the important thing is the speed of the drill. Most cordless drills only run about 1500rpm but corded drills run faster. The Festool PDC and DRC cordless drills run at same speed as corded drills so I think should be suitable. I'm sure you don't need percussion on. There have been a couple of threads on here about the lock morticer which would be worth searching for.

I run a souber with a PDC all the time and even on hardwood doors it's fine. Never used it in percussion mode. Never read the instructions either [eek] just watched the you tube video. Would have thought the vibration would make it less accurate.

percussion drills are just like old fashioned hammer drills... i think. pretty sure it just needs the speed of a corded to make it work like.
