To anyone that has used BOTH:

Could I get a comparison of these bits vs. the DeWalt version. I only care about where bit meets screw.

Today I went through 4 or 5 bits and it kinda pissed me off,..... just cuz.

I guess what I REALLY want to know is do they grip the screw better and by how much?

TIA

Try Wera's.  I have 2 of the diamond dust phillips bits.  Had them for almost 2 years (thank you clever bit holder on my C-12).

+1 on the Wera bits.  Recommendations on this board (thanks Darcy & Dan) led me to purchase a Wera driver.  Their bits are the best I've ever used -- they sure fit nice into the screw heads.

I really impress with Hilti's bits, over 5 lbs and no signs of wear. I'l try some Wera's bits where can we find them?

I have these Philips bits and though they are decent I wouldn't recommend them over the Wera bits. I have a Protool 34 piece bit set that came with the BHS 65 bit holder and I mainly bought it for all the Torx bits that come with it, but I would have never bought the Phillips bits separately. Or any other standard types of other brands. Wera Diamond bits all the way, they really stand out.

I do think Festool's HiQ (high quality) bits are a lot better. I have a couple of sizes of them in Pozidriv and they are excellent. After a lot of screws I haven't experienced cam out with the PZ bits and no chipping of the bit whatsoever. You can tell they are very hard. The Phillips No 2 HiQ order number is 490492.

I also have the 100 mm HiQ bits with Centrotec shaft in all Phillips, Pozidrive and straight sizes, and they are very good too.

To all who have posted, thank you for taking the time.

However I am putting together a Festool order and wanted the comparison to the DeWalt which are generally the most convenient to purchase. This was the reason for my asking for that specific comparison.

I will look into the Wera bits another time.

Thanks again

I use both the Festool and Dewalt bits. I buy some sort of pack of Dewalt bits probably every other time I go to HD. Either because the bits got lost or stripped out. Mostly though because they strip out to the point of being a PIA to use. Since the Festool bits are a bit pricey I only buy them when one falls into a hole. I have yet to go to the store to buy Festool bits because 'the old ones wore out'. So from that perspective they aren't really expensive at all.
I would suggest you be a bit careful about Festool bit use at times though. I prefer the cheap Dewalt bits if I am screwing in cheap brass or zinc screws. (Can't use Spax all the time) Cheap screws and cheap bit tend to make for better screw in with less tear out on the screw if something goes off kilter. The Festool bits, or maybe it's just me, will chew the crap out of cheap screws.
