I’ve had this rig in one form or another for quite a while now but it was getting even more janky so I rebuilt it today and added some white oak runners. I use it for near-field scrubbing and it seems to work well enough.
It’s really just a $20 20” Lasko fan from the big box store with some filters bungeed to it. The main filter is a 16x20x4 3M Filtrete Merv 11 with a one inche Merv 7 in front of it it to work as a “pre-filter.”
I picked up the filters for cheap at The Restore and just use whatever they have. The four inch main is key as it has enough surface area to match the fan flow rate. Though I’m not sure if the pre-filter slows it down some.
In the background, I’ve got a similar setup with five Merv 13 filters to scrub the small particulates circulating around.
