Sometimes (okay, a lot of times) I'll buy or make something without an intended use. Case in point. .I made a MFT top/shelf that fits the Stanley plastic sawhorse bottom. I also picked up some fence dogs from Benchdogs.co.uk a while back just to have.
I'm working on building some plantation shutters for the house. In the past I do all my miter saw cuts on a Ridgid rolling miter saw station. But it doesn't have a good stop system for repeat cuts. What you see is what I've cobbled together with stuff I already had minus some long M8 bolts I had to order from McMaster Carr. It isn't the most rigid setup but darn if it doesn't do exactly what I need it to and go away when I'm done with it.
The bench dogs that are threaded onto the bolts at the top are used to adjust and level the outfeed support to the miter saw base. The shelf just drops right on since I did all the 20mm holes on 96mm centers matching the MFT layout. There's a tape adhered to the spare MFT/3 fence that isn't calibrated for this operation but it could be if I wanted it for that, may do that in the future. For now I just wanted a way to make all my rails/stiles/louvers the exact same length and I can do that with the stops on the fence. With the hole pattern you could even go crazy with clamping options for odd shaped materials. The only thing I'd change is having shorter dogs that don't stick up above the shelf's surface however the materials I'll be cutting aren't wide enough for them to be an issue.
