Nice looking indeed. Maybe you already posted it and I missed it, but what is the function of the copper exactly?

Instead of shingles or aluminum (tin) the copper is used to shed the rain, snow, ice and a combination of the three that drop out of the sky here. After 10 years or so the copper oxidizes and turns from that tradition copper color through dark brown to a light green which people like.
