Was cruising Festool TV found this french video. He had some pretty cool jigs (I thought) in the beginning setting up his TS 75.

anyway thought I post it here for your viewing pleasure

rather then start a new thread, here is a pretty cool one from Belgium.

This one demos the different components of the CMS while building a cool project

I thought you guys might like tis one to

Now I feel like I should take better care of my la Festools such as removing the bits and giving them the oil spa treatment after every job! I admire that kind of people.  [eek]

I liked that little cradle he made for the TS55. Looks it makes a great stand to set the TS55 on especially for blade changing

C'mon - isn't anybody gonna comment on the Festool hubcaps (wheel covers)?

We figured that if we left it alone long enough... you would eventually comment on it  [poke]

I was thinking he ordered replacement vac wheels ?

I was thinking vac wheels, or the wheels for the UG cart? Now I'm gonna have to go check ekat...

I'd like a much better look at the little jig he is using to drill the holes with the router.  He seems to be using a regular guide rail to set the spacing as on the mft.

wow what kind of bosch mini drill press was that on the first vid?

According to ekat the wheels are the same part number for the Vac or UG cart. I guess that's not a big surprise?

I couldn't find the wheel covers on the vac page, but that's probably only because I don't speak (or read) German. The parts were obvious on the UG cart page, though, so here they are for anyone who is interested:

496230 Wheel $22.32

467699 ZACKENRING (ring to hold wheel on axle)  $3.50

474122 Radblende (hub cap or wheel cover) $4.76

Anyone know what the contraption is on the TS75 from the first video?  It was fastened to the side of the saw and included a large piece of lexan or similar sheet.

I like it too. Here's the best capture I could get of it . It's sitting to the upper right of the saw where he put it when he was finished changing the blade.

I am guessing a homemade dust plate. I am getting a 75 for the recon sale this week and might steal that idea if the dust extraction isn't to my liking. We shall see.

Bryan.

I like the stand he made for the TS75 to use when blade changing. Pretty slick idea if ya ask me

Since I have nothing better to do at the moment, I decided to reach out to him about the TS75 blade-change stand. I asked if I could get better pictures, and if I could post them to the FOG on his behalf. Here is his response:

************************************************

Hello,

First, excuse my bad english !

there is no problem for that.

I can do specially for you and the FOG,  pictures for show details. And also explain things.

I'm already in discution with contacts in France to Festool and sharing my little ideas.
Some have already been at the headquarters in Germany.

What interests me in the first place is to share!

My thought on Festool which I love, is that for me it is a starting point for many things! You just have to look for how to adapt the Festool equipment for its own needs.
M so I'll "take care of that during this weekend and I send you my pictures soon!

Salutations from France

Eric

************************************************

So, it sounds like I'll have some pictures and an explanation in the next few days. When I get them, I will post them here promptly!

Have to say - I'm kind of excited to see what he sends. He sounds sounds like a great guy, even if his name IS Eric.

Thats awesome,

If he reads this

Thank you so much.

But incase he doesnt, Please thank him for all of us.

I love that fact that folks all over the world share their ideas here. Same tools but different ideas.

Im looking fwd to seeing his jigs.

I invited him to join the FOG, but he seemed hesitant - I'm pretty sure due to language barriers. But a little bit of encouragement at the right time might change that? I gave him a pretty good sales pitch for the FOG, and made Shane aware of what I said.

I figured I'd see how things go with him sending whatever he sends, and then we can contact him again. I hope he decides to join, too!

And Kudos to you for posting his video in the first place. I was not aware of his work, and likely wouldn't have EVER known about if if you hadn't started this thread.

I subscribed to his youtube site and watched a few of his videos.  He does some interesting stuff.  What I would like to see more of is the setup he used to drill the 20mm holes in the mft extention he made in the video.  He seems to use a regular rail and guides for the router but I can't make out exactly how the little wooden jig he fits in each hole works.  Maybe you can ask him about that also.

Thanks,
Rusty
