[Project 24] Workbench Overhaul

I would save the pieces for shop projects and jigs.  Generally if one dimension is longer than 12”, i can repurpose it somewhere (tool holders, trays, etc).  Anything smaller, maybe trash.  I’m almost as stingy with BB as I am with walnut.  Big box ply, not as much.

I agree with this strategy, and follow roughly the same rules when deciding if I should discard or save scrap ply, especially better quality ply such as BB. It's paid off many times.

Thanks team. I’ll keep them.

First of two modules 100% done now with finish on.

The parts for the other one are cut already - just need to assemble so should be quick.

Nice!  The back side drawers with full extensions are huge!  Lots of storage, Matt!

What are the overall dimensions on the leg units side by side?

Maybe he has a cleaning service come in a couple times a week.  ;)

But seriously, it is a clean shop and that is good. I like that. I try to make time
each day I am in the shop for cleanup at the end and sometimes during the day
if I'm doing something messy.

Hi
I am amazed anyone can keep a shop that clean part way through a project Lol
Looks amazing...
Best
I asked Matt about it before. He says he just keeps it clean, ... right. [wink]
My theory is he makes everything in the back room and then brings projects to garage to brag  [big grin]
Just admit it, Matt.

[member=66813]rmhinden[/member] thanks!!

[member=167]neilc[/member] thank you! Each module is 48”
Square. So the whole work bench is 8’ by 4’.

Hahaha you guys. I just clean it often, what can I say :)

More progress - tops finally on! 1/2” BB laminated to 3/4” BB with walnut edge banding.

Ditto.

Besides, the metal shavings are hard on bare feet.

[member=67555]mattbyington[/member] love the project, the shop looks great. You are however constantly tweaking my neck with the sideways pictures, thought only us old guys were guilty of that...  [poke]
