Hello, I'm Brent Taylor and I'm a builder/ remodeler with furniture and casework design background. I have been woodworking for about 40 years . I'm new to the FOG, so bear with me on my review. This is my third jig saw in all this time. My first was Makita's first orbitial jig saw from the 80's, ( Yes, I still have it, the orbitial action no longer works. Thanks to an in-law.) my second is a PC pos, I grabbed two years back and this brings me to the Carvex. I looked at the Bosch JS572"s and the Makita FCT's , but the weight, the size if the barrel and the placement of the controls on both series could not compare to the Carvex. I thought I wanted a barrel grip, even though I did not own one, I have used them in the past, Bosch's to be exact. After trying all of the Festool models and the others also, the PSB 420 EBQ just fit. I do not normally just pick something up and have it fit like it was part of me, but it did. Arthritis and nerve damage make it hard for me to hold on to things, but I can slip my hand on to the barrel of this saw and not worry about my grip letting go by it'self and dropping the tool. The adjustable light for different needs is wonderful. The ease of loading and unloading blades. Squareness of cuts. The accessories in the kit, amazing. The only thing I have trouble with is the tilt base, a base like Mafell's or Bosch would have been better, but I can get help with it most of the time. I will most likely make my own base to fix the problem . but over all I love it. Thanks for the long winded review. Brent Taylor, the Handicapable Handyman.
