I am considering purchasing a TS55 module for my CMS GE when I travel to Ireland (Galway and Shannon).
I'm a hobbyist with very small shop and would like advice on any aspect of this including:
- part numbers
- voltage
- stores I could purchase this in
- how to check if they have stock
- packaging it normally has and whether I can check it on airline as is
- what I might need for a bag size if I'm going to pu the parts in a checked bag
- VAT ( or getting it back)
- anything else you might think of that would help.
Thanks in advance!

Do you want the module for the TS55, or the TS55-R? They are different!

The module for the TS55 is 493359; for the TS55-R it's 570281.

There is no issue with voltage - the modules themselves have no electrical parts whatsoever.

You should be able to claim the VAT back on leaving, but I'm not sure of the procedure for this. I'm sure someone else can help with this.

One of our Irish members should be able to suggest Irish dealers for you, and someone who has the modules should be able to advise on the packaging questions.

Just remember that the use of that module in your CMS will void the warranty on your CMS and will not be supported by Festool USA if you have any issues.

I dont want to be cheeky, and I understand you probably have to say this for legal reasons. But...just out of curiosity how is Festool planning to check on this? As far as I can tell it's impossible to see which modules have been used in the CMS module?

Their spies are everywhere!!!

very few of the irish  stores stock  all the festool line.
caufields industrial in galway city
joe mckeennas in limerick (only 30 minutes from shannon)
are the 2 i would visit
i would ring them up . say nothing about what country you are from and say you need it for a months time  but cant buy it until then.
im a good 2 hours from galway so im probably not the best person to help but pm if you think i can
galway dude might be able to help as he is in galway area.

as for packaging . i asume it all comes packaged in a box  so the parts are protected. i would get a bigger box and fill it with packing peanutes all around the cms box

It does come in a box but I would add extra packing if you are posting it (or even putting in an aircraft's hold)

Yes, we are actually supposed to paste in a whole block of verbiage but I was lazy and paraphrased.

I have no idea if / or how Festool would know.

its not like he has posted on the internet for everybody to see or some thing like that.

All,
If you have any more advice, I would appreciate it.
Some things are different from my prior posts.
1 I have the CMS-VL (always get confused on that)
2. My saw is Thorpe previous version. I have the ts55EQ, NOT the TS55REQ.
3. I'm going to Dublin, not Galway.  I will be there for several days but have only one weekday afternoon available to pick up any festools.
4. I think the correct CMS module is 493359.
Thanks in advance!

I would get the CS 70 fence It will mount to your MFT and really expand the cutting capacity of you CMS
