Hi,

Does anyone know what the purpose of the 486058 edging plate is?

I am doing some flush trim operations and was wondering exactly how this fits onto the router, I can't find any pics of how it mounts to the base.

Thanks.

Check out Brice Burrel's review of the edge routing accesories: link. It doesn't mount directly to the base, it mounts to another thing that attaches to the same location as the leveling foot for guiderail use.
I do not have those accesories myself, but I do think the OF1400 is a bit on the heavy side for use in that manner.

No question the edging plate works best with the 1010, but the 1400 isn't too heavy for the edging plate. I'd say the plate works very easily with the 1010 with almost no effort to support the router. With the 1400 is just takes a little more focus to make sure you're supporting it correctly.

With the 1010 this is a great accessory, if you want to use it with the 1400 try it out and if you'd prefer a smaller router instead you've got 30 days to return the setup.
