Question about DIY Festool tops

Those of you who have made your on tops with 20mm holes.  What is your preffered way of drilling out those holes?  Drill bit, Forstner bit or spade bit, or other methods?

I spent a long time looking into this and have read dozens of posts on homemade mft's and in the end decided to buy the original Festool top.  Once you own one it can act as a perfect template to make more:

I am looking at using the holes on a mitre station so its not feasible because its going to be much narrower then a standard MFT top
