Question about which board a "deal" should be posted

This question is primarily aimed at Shane and other moderators...

I know this forum is very Festool-centric, but there are a lot of tie in products, jigs, enhancements, sales etc that are not specifically Festool branded.

The recent Woodpecker's sale is an example; same with the new Rockler Bench Dogs.  Useful and hopefully welcome by all FOG members, but not of the blue & green breed.

Is there a particular board in which these things would be best suited?

I've previously posted some in the "Various Woodworking..." board, because it is desribed as "All other relevant discussions that don't belong anywhere else".  But one or two got moved; but not all.

I know we have a "Sales & Dealer Area" board, but I figured that is specific for Festool dealers and Festool sales-related things.
Do these non-Festool notifications go there?

Unless members have an issue with it, I'd suggest posting it in whichever section you personally deem it's best suited in.  The obvious choice might be the "Other tools" section.  Dealers should keep their sales/marketing info in the dealer sales area, but there's nothing to prohibit you from posting there if you'd prefer.

Thanks for asking. I'm open to suggestions if anyone would like to offer their thoughts.

Shane,

Thanks for clarifying this.  I always wonder if the forum I post the deals I come across, is the appropriate one.  Now I know.  [cool]

I would think other tools and acc would be right, but I never worry about getting it perfect.  The mod's will move it if they see fit and thats fine with me.  The way I browse the forum it does not make a difference what catagory it goes in.  I don't go to a paticular section, but go strait to the bottom of the main page and look at the latest posts and if something piques my interest I click on it.    I really wish some other forums would do it like that instead of haveing to go to each catagory to look at the threads only there.  Things here are organized well.  Just M2CW [thumbs up]
